Comprising 55% of Maastricht’s study body international students form the majority of students, despite that they and their interests and needs are systematically underrepresented and ignored in decision making. To change that the MSR is creating an international commission to work on the issues that affect you the most. Working on the international commission will offer you the freedom to pick your own projects. Naturally you will also be working on the issues most naturally aligned with international interests like English accessibility, student services and mistreatment of international students in housing.

Maastricht has an active green community. More and more students, shop owners, political parties and citizens are spending time and money to make Maastricht a more sustainable city. As a result there are now countless work groups, recycling days , actions and of course the successful climate rally have been created. We applaud all these initiatives, more however could be achieved by a united front speaking in one voice with the city and the schools. To that end the MSR is creating the sustainability commission.

Tuesday the 6th of november, the student council attended a debate with the municipality and other stakeholders regarding student housing policies.
